I did my PhD in the AtMol group at the University of Durham after studying Applied Physics at the University of Limerick. Previously I have been a postdoc in Mike Chapman’s group at Georgia Tech and held a year-long guest researcher position, supported by the Marie Curie CO-FUND, at NIST, Gaithersburg in the group of Paul Lett. I was awarded a five-year long Royal Society of Edinburgh/Scottish Government Personal Research Fellowship in 2009, and now currently hold a Chancellor’s Fellowship.
I am a member of the UK Quantum Technology Hub for Sensors and Metrology, taking part in efforts to build next-generation atomic clocks, magnetometers, and rotation sensors.
My research is mainly interested in cold and quantum-degenerate gases, atom-interferometry, and applications of cold-atom technology.
